Just started your book, “SECRECY, DEMOCRACY, AND FASCISM
Lessons from History I am only to page 28 and normally would not comment this early on. Actually I would not even give it a look see just because you are atheist but was compelled out of curiosity. I would like to point out I personally don’t believe in wide ranging conspiracy theories because of theory only. But back to pages 27 and 28. If anyone politicized the judiciary more than anyone in history of the US it would be Barack Obama. If anyone weaponized the branches of government more than anyone it would be Obama. I was not a Bush fan but did vote for him. I also voted for Obama for his first term I was completely taken by surprise in that I feel he let our country down. I never felt since I’ve been an American someone so polarizing. So, with that said your description of Bush and his political antics could be said of Obama as well, but on steroids. I will hold further commentary until after I complete. Ross
Hi Rusty,
Thank you for reading my book and providing me with some feedback. I very much appreciate it!
I am wondering why you believe that Obama politicized the judiciary more than anyone in the history of the country. As far as I know, he did no such thing.
Just look at his pick for the Supreme Court, for example. According to these legal scholars, "Judge Garland's record demonstrates that he is essentially the model, neutral judge. He is acknowledged by all to be brilliant. His opinions avoid unnecessary, sweeping pronouncements...Conservative commentators have expressed support for a potential Garland nomination." That is exactly the *opposite* of politicizing the judiciary.
I'm looking forward to hearing more from you.
